Build Umbraco pages with reusable blocks, not page code
ClientCraft.VisualBuilder.Umbraco is a pre-release package of reusable components and design controls for Umbraco’s native Block Grid. Designers compose content with blocks and areas, native media and link pickers, and rich-text emphasis. It complements Umbraco editing; it is not a replacement CMS or a claim of full Framer-style editing.
Use native Umbraco composition
Start with a page containing a Block Grid and a selected layout. Add sections and native areas, then place headings, rich text, actions and media inside them. A block spanning 12 columns within a half-width area fills that area, not the entire page.
Umbraco remains responsible for ordering, resizing, languages, media, drafts, permissions, preview and publication. The package adds reusable rendering and safe property controls instead of replacing those native facilities.
Choose content and appearance in context
- Headings: rich text with emphasis on the words you select, plus heading level and design controls.
- Text: authored paragraphs, lists and links.
- Media: native media selection, alternative text and supported crop/fit controls.
- Actions: native link selection, labels and button appearance.
- Structure: sections and areas with native placement, spacing and responsive settings.
A Design Library can centralise shared styles. The website layout owns shared chrome and a Render Content slot. Editors should not need to select JavaScript or stylesheet filenames.
Keep reuse and connected values understandable
Shared content uses a published source; editing the source affects its linked placements when published. A layout pattern inserts independent native blocks that can be edited on the page. These are different tasks, so choose deliberately.
Connected content is available only when the host registers an appropriate data source and the current context is authorised to read it. Installing the Visual Builder alone does not supply Client Craft CRM records, paid services or arbitrary external connectors. Website-specific signup, payment and onboarding blocks belong to the host application.
Evaluate the current pre-release on a real page
The Client Craft homepage is the implementation pilot. Try a representative heading, image replacement, native reorder and resize, mobile override, preview and save/publish before adopting a release. Check the package’s supported Umbraco version and dependencies, and evaluate upgrades in a recoverable environment.
The current distribution is an alpha. Do not assume an infinite design canvas, full Figma/Framer parity or every possible component. This page describes the native Block Grid approach and the supported component categories, not a promise that every designer workflow is finished.
Review the package and release dependencies, explore the homepage pilot, or ask for a demonstration using your actual page requirements.
